Half an hour, free, no obligation. Tell us how you sell and what’s not working, and we’ll tell you what we’d do about it.
Every question answered within two working days. That's an SLA, not an intention.
Our connector pulls your sales straight out of Amazon, eBay, Etsy and Shopify, so the numbers are right and nothing gets typed in twice. Most sellers pay £50–£100 a month for a third-party tool. Ours is included.
We specialise in Dropshipping - not an ecommerce page bolted onto a high-street practice.
On the call we’ll go through how you sell, where you sell, your VAT position and anything HMRC has sent you. You’ll get specific advice whether or not you engage us.
Great people speaking plain English that small business people like me can understand.
I am very thankful for the support by the team of Your E-commerce Accountant. Grace Morphew is very professional and kind who helps with every question you may have. Thank you
Been using Ben and his team from Your Ecommerce Accountant for the last 3 months — top class service and communication. They have been a great relief for me and my brother running a start up in the UK — highly recommend them. No hidden costs, great service and get the job done when asked.
I've been using Your Ecommerce Accountants for the past two years and couldn't be happier with their service. Ben has always been very helpful, approachable whenever I've needed support. It's good to have someone reliable who understands the needs of an e-commerce business.
I've been working with Ben and the rest of the team for the best part of 10 months, so happy to have engaged him in regards to my HMRC affairs. We are getting through it slowly but surely. Overall a wholesome experience. Thank you Your Ecommerce Accountant.
Ben was really nice and knowledgeable and was able to answer any queries we had. The process couldn't have been easier with our accounts and corporation tax. Quality service all round providing tax saving tips and advice. Will definitely be using their services again for next year's accounts.
Honestly, I couldn't have made it through the last few years without this company! I have no idea about returns, accounts or anything like this and I knew I could just email and I would get a quick response with help from a number of staff. Stefi, Anshe, Georgia and Giedre to name a few! You are truly amazing.
Helps us take the load of doing VAT returns and annual financial statements. Your Ecommerce Accountant is also great at communication.
I can't say enough good things about the service at YEA. Everyone I've interacted with has been professional and highly committed. My primary contact is Grace, and she is an absolute gem. Grace is the perfect example of someone who goes above and beyond for her clients. She has a truly proactive approach, consistently finding ways to help my business grow without me even having to ask. For a business in its initial stages, this kind of support is invaluable. She's not only punctual and knowledgeable but also takes the extra mile to find solutions for every problem. Her dedication and willingness to help are truly exceptional, and she's a major reason why I'm so happy with the service I receive.
I recently had the opportunity to engage in an initial consultation with Colin regarding VAT considerations for my Shopify store, especially concerning sales in other countries. Colin showed a great understanding of my situation, acknowledging my status as an accountant with limited VAT expertise diving into a new business venture. What I appreciated most about Colin's approach was his genuine concern for my best interests. Rather than pushing for immediate engagement, he recognised that, at this early stage, I am capable of managing certain aspects independently. His recommendation to postpone our collaboration until my shop is fully operational demonstrated both his integrity and commitment to providing value. He came across as approachable and knowledgeable. I appreciated Colin's transparency regarding fees and service offerings. He outlined the benefits of each option, ensuring I had a clear understanding of what would best serve my long-term interests. His professionalism, transparency, and genuine concern for my business's success were evident throughout our interaction.
I had a chat with Ben this morning and he provided enormous clarity allowing me to clearly see what my best course of action is going forward into the first year of setting up a dropship ecommerce business. He didn't try and sell me any services or products from his end whatsoever — just a genuine motive to help. It was very refreshing, and it was 9am Monday morning! My biggest concern was about IOSS and he dealt with that very quickly. The other major gremlin was submitting quarterlies when setting up a LTD company, and the bottom line was that until turnover reaches 85K there is very little need to worry about all that. I had read a huge amount and spent months researching my options and Ben cut through everything in about 10 minutes! I highly recommend anyone who is feeling blinded by the accountancy aspects of dropshipping get in touch with Ben because, as I say, the fog has lifted!
Ben and the team are really helpful. The thought of doing our own accounts is headache-inducing. Accounts is a part of our business we don't have to worry about and we trust the team to take care of things. They really understand ecommerce accounting and the nuances it involves — do not go to a traditional accountant if you sell online.
Business went from tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands within a year. Having the correct accountant in place allows me to focus on this growth, as there is no way I would feel comfortable making this level of sales. It feels a bit like being on a NASA rocket — and luckily Your Ecommerce Accountant has the system which can keep up and give me confidence to truly reach for the stars.
Ben and his team were excellent. Pragmatic and helpful for us as a small company. Good communication and responsiveness. Deep understanding of different e-commerce platforms (Shopify, Amazon, Etsy etc), integrations and sorting the right tax treatment for all that.
As a rapidly growing UK seller, I have been wanting to expand further to the US market and Ben has provided me with very good knowledge on this. This gives me a smooth transition to the US markets doing online arbitrage, hitting the biggest Amazon market in the world.
Had some inquiries about the process of self assessment and going into MTD. Samuel was very straight forward and clear, he took the time to understand my plans and gave me peace of mind. I'd recommend anyone to at least book the free consultation call. When you book you can leave some info about the situation or questions you would like to know, and when the call comes the 20 minutes you get is packed full of great knowledge, advice, peace of mind and value.
Had a great intro phone call with Samuel. He was super helpful, very informative but to the point — gave me the exact advice I was looking for about a few UK/US questions. I plan to work with these guys in the future. Definitely recommended.
Had a call with Colin Smith. I must say he was ready to answer all my questions and give me clarity on all grey areas. I will definitely recommend working with the e-commerce accountant.
After discovering Your Accountant on YouTube and finding their video series genuinely insightful, I decided to take up their complimentary call and I'm glad I did. Speaking with Sam was effortless, and his practical guidance was impressive for what was essentially a free consultation. I came away feeling confident and clear about my next steps. Should the need arise, I wouldn't hesitate to engage their full services; it's clear they have a wealth of accounting expertise to offer any business.
Your support recently has been nothing short of incredible. I especially appreciate Ben coming up with new ways of working and trying to make my role easier. Ben has clearly and accurately clarified my hours and hours of research and pointed me in the right direction.
Really pleased with the services offered by these guys. Completely free helpful advice with no pressure to sign up to services, thank you very much.
Clear, concise information all relevant to what I needed. No pressure to sign up or transact anything. Very helpful, thank you Sam!
Had a free consultation with Ben today. It was super helpful and he answered all of my questions. Thank you Ben!
Amazing company, extremely knowledgeable staff. Highly recommend.
Being the owner of multiple properties, I discovered I wasn't utilising my properties effectively so as to gain the most out of them financially. Thanks to that video it has changed my life and my family's tremendously. My eternal gratitude to you, keep up the good work.
I watched your video explaining side hustles and CIC status in light of the HMRC changes. It was very informative — definitely better to be prepared than sorry. Quality information!

Using Your Ecommerce Accountants to help with monthly management accounts and VAT registration / returns. I would definitely recommend to anyone who is running an e-commerce business, whether you are already well established or just starting out.

You've seen the services. This is the part that actually changes your numbers.
Most dropshippers know their revenue to the penny and their profit not at all. Sales arrive as store payouts, supplier payments go out in dollars on a card, and ad spend, refunds and chargebacks are scattered across three more accounts. We match every supplier payment to the orders it fulfilled and separate cost of goods, shipping, payment fees, apps and ad spend, so you see what each product actually earns after everything.
When your supplier ships straight from China or elsewhere to a UK customer, the old idea that import VAT is the courier's problem no longer holds. Since 2021, UK VAT on parcels worth £135 or less is collected at the point of sale, and on your own store that usually falls on you rather than the supplier. We work out exactly where your VAT sits, register you when you need it, and make sure you're not paying it twice or not at all.
Dropshipping makes it easy to sell worldwide, but the tax doesn't follow automatically. EU customers charged VAT and handling fees on delivery tend to refuse the parcel, and US states each set their own sales tax thresholds. We set up IOSS so EU VAT is collected at checkout, track your US state exposure, and handle the registrations and filings.
On thin dropshipping margins, a winning product on paper can lose money once refunds, chargebacks, failed deliveries and ad spend land. We track contribution margin after ads, customer acquisition cost against order value, and refund rate by product, then benchmark you against the other online sellers on our books. You'll know which products to scale and which to cut.
EcomLedger connects straight to your store and reconciles orders, payouts, fees and refunds to your bank, so you never send us an export. Supplier payments in other currencies are matched and converted properly, which is where most dropshipping books go wrong. And because the software is ours, when a platform changes how it pays out, we fix it rather than wait for a plugin vendor.
Most accountants take ages to reply to queries, we have an SLA of two working days to get back to you.
We are experts in ecommerce with experience of over 500 clients
We have developed our own software, eComLedger so you do not have to constantly send us reports. We combine this with Dext to ensure it is as easy as possible for you to share invoices with us.
We have a client area which is dedicated to teaching you the skills to unlock your potential, understand your numbers, make better decisions and make more profit.
Some accountants leave identifying tax savings to chance. We track it against every client so you can keep as much as your profit as possible.
A dropshipping accountant handles the bookkeeping, VAT, tax returns and year-end accounts for businesses that sell products shipped directly by suppliers, and understands the specific risks of that model. Dropshippers pay suppliers in other currencies, often without proper VAT invoices, and deal with high refund and chargeback rates on thin margins. A specialist matches supplier costs to sales, works out where VAT is due on overseas shipments, and shows your real profit per product.
Yes. Dropshipping is a legitimate trade, and the profit is taxed like any other business: Income Tax and National Insurance for a sole trader, Corporation Tax for a limited company. If your total trading income in a tax year is £1,000 or less, the trading allowance means you don’t need to report it. Above that, you must register for Self Assessment or file company accounts. Selling through a store builder doesn’t change any of this.
A UK-based dropshipper must register when taxable turnover goes over £90,000 in any rolling 12-month period, not just the tax year. You must also register immediately if you expect to go over £90,000 in the next 30 days alone. Businesses based outside the UK that sell goods to UK customers generally have no threshold and must register from their first taxable sale. Because dropshipping turnover can grow quickly, check the rolling total every month.
For parcels worth £135 or less, UK VAT is charged at the point of sale, not at the border. If you’re VAT registered and selling through your own store, that normally means you charge and account for the VAT. If you sell through an online marketplace, the marketplace usually collects it instead. For parcels over £135, import VAT and any duty are due at import, and whoever is the importer of record pays them. This is the area dropshippers most often get wrong, so get advice on your set-up before you scale.
Only if you’re VAT registered and hold the right evidence. Overseas suppliers usually don’t charge UK VAT, so there’s often nothing to reclaim on the supplier invoice itself. If you’re the importer of record on parcels over £135, you can normally recover the import VAT using your postponed VAT accounting statement or C79 certificate. Without that evidence, the VAT is a cost to your business.
IOSS (the EU’s Import One-Stop Shop) lets you charge EU VAT at checkout on parcels worth €150 or less sent to EU customers, then pay it through one monthly return. Without it, your customer is asked to pay VAT and a handling fee on delivery, and many refuse the parcel. Businesses based outside the EU, including UK dropshippers, must appoint an EU intermediary to register for IOSS. If you sell through a marketplace, the marketplace usually handles EU VAT instead.
Possibly. Each US state sets its own “economic nexus” threshold, commonly $100,000 of sales into that state in a year. Once you pass it, you must register and collect sales tax there, even with no US presence. Store platforms can calculate the tax, but registering and filing in each state is your responsibility.
Record your full sales as income, then refunds, chargebacks and chargeback fees separately, and write off stock that’s lost or never delivered as a cost. Don’t simply net them off against sales. Recording them separately shows which products and suppliers cause the problems, and on thin dropshipping margins that’s often the difference between scaling a product and dropping it. All of these are normally allowable costs for tax.
If you sell through eBay, Amazon, Etsy or TikTok Shop, those platforms must report sellers who make 30 or more sales, or receive more than €2,000 (about £1,700), in a calendar year. HMRC can also see payment and bank data. Whatever channel you use, declare all your trading income. If you’ve had a letter from HMRC about undeclared sales, speak to us before replying.
Most dropshippers start as sole traders because it’s simpler. A limited company usually becomes more tax-efficient once profits are consistently high, and it limits your personal liability if a supplier or customer dispute goes wrong. We’ll compare both for you on a free call.
Yes, if you’re a sole trader above the threshold. MTD for Income Tax started in April 2026 for qualifying income over £50,000. It extends to income over £30,000 from April 2027 and over £20,000 from April 2028. Qualifying income is gross sales before costs, so a high-turnover, low-margin dropshipping store can be caught even if profits are small. Limited companies aren’t affected.
Our monthly packages start from £50 a month, or £120 a month if you’re VAT registered. They cover bookkeeping, VAT returns, year-end accounts and tax returns, with no minimum term. One-off jobs, such as last year’s accounts or an IOSS registration, are quoted at a fixed price before we start.
We use Xero or QuickBooks for the books, fed by EcomLedger, our own connector. EcomLedger reads your store orders and payouts and matches supplier payments in other currencies, so you don’t pay for a third-party connector or send us exports.
Our head office is at 3 Station Road, Stansted Mountfitchet, Essex, and we work with online sellers across the UK remotely by phone and Teams. Your Ecommerce Accountant is the trading name of Your Cloud Accountant Limited, a chartered accountancy firm regulated by the ICAEW.
